Our Impact

We are Yorkshire Children's Charity

Everything we do starts with one simple belief: Every child should have the support they need to succeed. We work collaboratively, respond to real need and focus on delivering meaningful, lasting impact for children and families across Yorkshire.

From providing immediate practical support to creating life-changing opportunities through education, wellbeing and community projects, our work is driven by compassion, ambition and partnership. Together with our supporters, we're helping children overcome barriers today while creating brighter futures for tomorrow.

Our mission

Our mission is to make things better for children and young people living at a disadvantage, now and for their future. The impact of our work is happier, healthier, and more independent children and young people, who are empowered to meet their unique potential and have the most fulfilling future possible.

We have various programmes designed to enhance all aspects of children's lives, ranging from large-scale building projects to simple yet special days out. These initiatives aim to create meaningful improvements and memorable experiences for children in our communities who most need our help.

What we do

Our programmes are designed to meet children where they need us most.

From emergency support and school-based campaigns to unforgettable experiences and transformational building projects, every initiative helps improve children's lives today while creating opportunities for a better future.

Impact stories

Gigi's story

Gigi’s world is filled with challenges, including a respiratory disorder that requires her to sleep at a 40-degree angle. Her old bed was unsafe, with the threat of tangled oxygen wires causing constant worry. Every night, her parents, Charlotte and Curtis, would take turns staying awake, never fully able to relax, because Gigi’s safety was always on their minds.

Gigi’s parents applied for an individual grant to fund a specialist bed, now they can sleep soundly knowing she is safe.
