The twins attend mainstream school, where they each have support to help them take part alongside their peers. They are both outgoing and happy children who want to be involved, and they love playing with their friends.
Supporting their mobility and independence
With support from Yorkshire Children’s Charity, the family received an individual grant towards specialist walkers for the boys.
The equipment gives Eli and Abel the opportunity to work on their mobility and physical development in a way that is suited to their needs, while helping them build confidence.
Having access to the right equipment also gives the boys more opportunities to take part alongside their peers and work towards greater independence.
For children living with disabilities or long-term health conditions, specialist equipment can be expensive and may not always be covered through other sources of support. Our individual grants help families access equipment that can make everyday life easier and support children to take part in the activities they enjoy.
For Eli and Abel, their walkers are helping them stay active, develop their mobility and continue doing the things they enjoy with the people around them.
