Born in Huddersfield, Sir Richard Harpin is a leading entrepreneur, investor and business leader. He founded HomeServe in 1993 with £50,000 and grew the business into a FTSE 100 company before its £4.1bn acquisition by Brookfield in 2023. Richard remained as Chair for a further two years.
Today, he invests through Growth Partner and is Owner and Chairman of Business Leader, helping founders and CEOs to scale their businesses.
Named EY UK Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008, Richard is also passionate about supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs through The Enterprise Trust, which he founded to help young people develop their entrepreneurial potential.
