Elegance, excitement, and £128,895 raised!

Our annual Yorkshire Polo and Yorkshire Clay Shoot events at Allerton Park were joined this year by a brand-new wellness event, Yorkshire Reset.

The magic of our events never fails to amaze us and across our jam-packed week of fundraising, we raised an incredible £128,895.

Yorkshire Children’s Charity Yorkshire Polo

Our first ever Yorkshire Reset event saw our gorgeous English Marquee Company structure transformed into a haven of wellness with pilates, yoga, sound bath classes, nutrition workshop and a selection of stalls to browse from – what more could you want from a Monday out of the office?

In between the fundraising events, Allerton Park was also host to the our Schools Out Sport’s Day, giving 200 inner-city children the opportunity to experience the great Yorkshire countryside, with sessions held by ex-Rugby Union player, Charlie Beech, Leeds United Foundation Coach, Thomas Barker-Askew, Athletics coach, Helen Beck and ex-NRL and Super League Players, Quentin Laulu-Togagae and Suaia Matagi. A huge thank you to the entire Julius Baer team for bringing our sports day to life for another year!

Yorkshire Children’s Charity Schools Out Sports Day

Thursday saw our biggest Yorkshire Polo to date giving over 260 guests the chance to live out their Pretty Woman dreams with two polo matches, three-course lunch and a whole lot of fun. With tickets for this event initially selling out in the space of a couple of weeks, it has been amazing for us as a team to see the excitement grow year on year and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who bought a ticket.

We rounded off our sunny week at Allerton Park with our Yorkshire Clay Shoot. Five stands and unlimited cartridges – we’re already looking forward to next year!

Charlotte Farrington, chief executive and founder comments, “Our events are so much more than an amazing day out – they are crucial to how we operate as a charity. To have raised £128,895 across these events in just one week is fantastic and a testament to the strength and generosity of Yorkshire.

“With child poverty rates at their highest in twenty years, the need for our work has never been greater. With funds raised from last year’s events, we were able to support over 2,000 children at winter, providing warm coats, bedding bundles and school shoes to families living in destitution across our region. We know the need for this support will only increase this year.”

Special thanks to our sponsors and organising committee, without whom, these events simply couldn’t happen. Thank you to our major sponsor Lister Horsfall and co-sponsors Alexanders Prestige, DS Emotion, Allerton Park Horse Trials, Hall Brown Family Law, Howden Insurance, HACS, Bramham Polo Academy, Brown Trout and Leeds East Airport for their involvement across the series of events.

And a huge thank you to everyone that attended an event, donated, made a monthly donation and learnt more about what we do at YCC. As a charity, events like this make a huge difference to the number of children we can support.
