Can you take a child on a Big Day Out?

Over half of the children we support have never seen a cow, pig or sheep in real life. Why not be the ones to change that?

Having listened carefully to the schools and teachers we work with, and with child poverty expected to reach record levels over the next few years, it is our hope to give 10,000 children an amazing and memorable day out, but we can only do this with your help!

The opportunity to engage in the world around them, seeing and experiencing new things, is vital for children’s development. Research suggests positive experiences during key ‘sensitive periods’ of early childhood and adolescence help build healthy brains. But, with the ever rising cost-of-living, a trip to the beach or a day at a farm for many of our families is completely out of reach, making it all too common for these children to never leave the estates on which they live.

Could your team take part in our most hands-on initiative to date ‘The Big Day Out’ and take children in your community on a memorable trip?

How it works…

  • We will pair your company with a primary school local to your office (or if relevant, one of your developments)
  • We need you to commit to raising £20 per child to pay for the trip
  • We will work with the school and yourselves to organise the outing

Your team will join the school on the trip to help teachers and ensure these children have ‘the best day ever

Nothing compares to the feeling of witnessing our children see animals or feeling sand between their toes for the first time. Whether you can fundraise to take a class of 30 or an entire school of 400, the scope of these days out can be tailored to suit you.
