Last week, the Van Rysel Rampage – the UK’s only legal car park cycling challenge – roared back into the Victoria Leeds car park, raising an incredible £6,700 for Yorkshire Children’s Charity!

Now in its fourth year at Victoria Gate, this year’s Rampage was our biggest and most exciting yet, drawing hundreds of supporters and riders who came together for what we think we can now call *the* coolest cycling event in the North. This year, we were thrilled to welcome Van Rysel as our headline sponsor, helping us make the event even more impactful for the children we support.
At the helm was former pro cyclist turned Events Executive at Yorkshire Children’s Charity, Abby Mae Parkinson, bringing her passion, expertise, and infectious energy to every moment of the event.
On Thursday 3rd July, 80 determined cyclists took on three challenging rounds: a time trial, a pursuit race, and a dramatic 1v1 face-off, with live commentary from renowned cycling broadcaster Matt Payne. Riders pushed their legs and lungs to the limit, cheered on by spectators who filled the rooftop finish zone of the Victoria Gate car park.
The atmosphere was electric as supporters enjoyed food and drinks from brilliant Yorkshire independents including Secret Dough, Fat Pigeon, Cold Bath Brewery, The Clubhouse and Fennells. Red Bull kept the energy high with a live DJ set that carried the celebrations into the evening.
Danny Tully, Commercial and Finance Director at Victoria Gate, described the Rampage as “lung-busting” but also highlighted the heart of the event, praising Abby and the team for taking the Rampage to the next level.
Danny added: “Abby brought her cycling wealth of knowledge and contacts to make the 2025 Rampage event space special”
With support from partners including Van Rysel, Red Bull, and McLaren, the Rampage continues to grow.

Funds raised from the Rampage will go directly towards supporting children living at a disadvantage across our region. This includes our Kids on Bikes programme, launched last year in partnership with Olympic gold medallist Tom Pidcock, giving inner-city children the chance to experience the joy of bike riding in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, many for the very first time.
In 2024 alone, we hosted nine Kids on Bikes days across three locations, reaching over 200 children, and with your support, we can continue to expand this programme and many more.
Thank You!
To every rider, sponsor, volunteer, and spectator who made Rampage 2025 an unforgettable night – thank you. Your support means more than you know, helping us change lives and give Yorkshire children the chance to thrive.
We’re already excited for next year’s Rampage – but for now, we’re still buzzing from seeing our community come together on the rooftops of Leeds to make a real difference.
